About Inga-Bodil Ekselius

I work as a communications officer at the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research, where I am responsible for research communication and popular science dissemination, and provide strategic communications support for operational development. I give long-term strategic and operational communications support to analysts and operations coordinators within the secretariat's different areas of activity.

As part of my role, I work closely with the organisation to develop ways of translating research and knowledge into communication with a clear impact. I am responsible for planning and implementing communication initiatives related to reports and knowledge production, including editorial processing, launches, external contacts and public events. This work contributes to the secretariat's goal fulfilment and external impact.

A central part of the work is to develop forms of knowledge exchange and communicative reach in dialogue with colleagues and external collaboration partners. I establish and manage networks and meeting places that support encounters between research, practice and policy. My responsibilities include planning and delivering seminars, panel discussions and other events, moderating discussions and being responsible for editorial production, including web editing, content production, communication in social media and press communication.

I have a solid background in journalism, editorial work and communication, as well as extensive knowledge of the research field of gender and power-critical research in the Nordic region. My work focuses to a large extent on collaboration, both within academia and between research, policy and practice, as well as on issues relating to research policy, research conditions, organisation and funding, both nationally and internationally. My work is characterised by a holistic perspective on communication as an integral part of the development of knowledge organisations.
