Study in Gothenburg, Sweden

Welcome to the University of Gothenburg, one of Sweden’s top ranked universities. We are the right study destination for academic freethinkers and changemakers.

Our course offerings

We offer around 80 international master’s programs and 10 bachelor’s programs, all taught in English. Most of the master's programs are two-year programs, taught on campus. The bachelor's programs are three-year programs.

How to apply

All universities in Sweden uses the same admission portal, which means that you can apply to more than one University, at the same time. The international admissions round closed on 15 January 2026.  A few of our programs are open for admission again 15 March 2026 but you can only apply in that round if you don't need to apply for a residence permit in Sweden.

Get to know our University

Founded in 1891, we are one of Sweden’s oldest universities. With 7 faculties, over 50 000 students and 6700 employees, we are also one of the most popular universities in northern Europe.
