"A Master's in Knowledge-Based Entrepreneurship gives me the tools for the future!"
Diyora Sobirova, a student in the Master’s program in Knowledge-Based Entrepreneurship at the School of Business, Economics and Law, chose this program to build a theoretical foundation she can practically apply in her personal development as an entrepreneur. “I have always had a great interest in both marketing and entrepreneurship,” says Diyora.
What made you choose the Master’s in Knowledge-Based Entrepreneurship?

-Apart from my studies and my part-time job at Swedbank, I also run my own business, a marketing agency that helps sustainable hotels attract more guests through digital marketing, including advertising on Instagram, Google, and Facebook. I chose to pursue a Master’s in Entrepreneurship to build a theoretical foundation that I can practically apply to my business and my development as an entrepreneur. I have always been passionate about both marketing and entrepreneurship. During my Bachelor’s Degree at the same University, I focused on marketing, and choosing KBE as my Master’s Program felt like a natural and obvious choice for me.
Is there a specific course you are looking forward to?
-One course I am particularly excited about is "Personal and Professional Development for Entrepreneurs." I believe it will provide me with valuable insights both as an entrepreneur and for the development of my business. Currently, I am taking another fascinating course called "Entrepreneurship and New Business Development," which I find particularly innovative. It reminds me a bit of the Young Enterprise (UF) program from high school, but on a more advanced level. In this course, we create business plans, write investment proposals, conduct market research, and take ideas from concept to reality. I had so much fun with my UF company in high school, and this course brings back many positive memories.
How would you describe your education at the School of Business, Economics and Law?
-My education at the School of Business, Economics and Law, has been both educational and very enjoyable. Studying in a new city, meeting new people, and being in such a challenging program has strengthened me both mentally and academically. I have received a lot of support from my fellow students, who are now friends for life, as well as from the dedicated and inspiring teachers. A particularly memorable teacher is Anders Boman, who truly impressed me with his teaching style and the knowledge he shared. The School of Business is an exceptionally professional, enriching, and educational institution. Everyone who has secured a spot here, both at Bachelor’s and/or Master’s levels, has worked hard to get in. Studying here is definitely worth the effort. My favorite aspects of the school are the social opportunities, such as the Handels pub and various student associations, as well as the opportunity to go on exchanges with Universities all over the world. I had the privilege of going on an exchange to Granada, Spain, during the fifth semester of my Master's program, and it was an amazing experience both academically and personally.
How has your connection to the business world been during your studies?
-Thanks to the School of Business, Economics and Law, I have been able to build valuable connections in the business world. I got a part-time job at Swedbank through GADDEN and took the step to start my own company alongside my studies. I also have over 3,500 connections on LinkedIn, including entrepreneurs, business owners, and CEOs. During my bachelor’s degree, I was active in various student organizations, such as HandelsConsulting, where I worked as a consultant, and the Women’s Network at Handels (HKN), where I was responsible for marketing. I am also a student representative for the Master’s program I am currently studying. These experiences have provided me with invaluable insights and personal growth.
