Short description

My dissertation is situated at the intersection of the history of technology and the history of Swedish banking. By examining the development of the Bankomat system, I aim to broaden our understanding of how the digitalization of banks and the rise of retail banking became increasingly important in the 20th century. In particular, I analyze how the Bankomat offered customers new ways to manage cash, how it reshaped the customer-bank relationship and how this innovation both enabled and compelled banks to refine their strategies.
