Short description
Search for the jellyfish is a citizen science project that aims to find out more about the occurrence and status of jellyfish in Swedish waters. Jellyfish are an important part of the marine ecosystem, but there are no major surveys of their status and distribution along the Swedish coast. At the same time, they arouse both interest and concern, especially in summer, when many questions are raised about jellyfish and their distribution or absence.
In this project, the people are asked to send in pictures of jellyfish with the app iNaturalist or by "Artportalen". With the help of the public, researchers can collect and analyze data from large geographical areas and develop more knowledge about the status of jellyfish. Everybody can help.
