1st Public Organizing, Management, Accounting and Auditing (POMAA) research seminar
The Public Management and Society Centre is happy to announce the first POMAA international research seminar that will be held in Gothenburg, May 10- 11, 2023

Call for papers
The purpose of the seminar is to highlight current themes in public sector organizing, provoke dialogue as well as facilitate a critical assessment of current trends. The sector has faced major challenges in the form of first a longstanding pandemic and then the consequences of the war in Ukraine. Perennial issues such as financial challenges and budget issues, organizational reforms and the introduction of new accounting and management is however still in need of critical assessment. The purpose is to illuminate current issues from a variety of empirical, methodological, and theoretical perspectives.

The seminar welcomes contributions on all aspects of public sector organizing, management, accounting, and auditing in relation to current challenges and trends. Different theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches are welcome. The ambition is to attract scholars from a multitude of disciplines. Potential themes for contributions include, but are not limited to:

  • Control
  • Governance
  • Professions
  • Value creation
  • Relationships between different stakeholder groups
  • Accounting and accountability
  • Co-production and co-delivery of public services
  • Public organizing and society
