Short description

The Church of Sweden possesses a unique textile heritage comprising textiles of great cultural and historical value, ranging from the Middle Ages to contemporary craftsmanship. Whilst the Church of Sweden’s textile heritage must be preserved for the future, many of these textiles are in regular use by parishes, which can lead to damage. One problem is that untreated stains risk becoming permanent, attracting pests, and causing material damage to the textile. The project aims to develop safe and environmentally sustainable methods for cleaning ecclesiastical textiles, with a focus on stain treatment.
