Celebrating a new faculty with an alumni meeting

Published

In November, an alumni meeting was held to celebrate the creation of the Faculty of Science and Technology. Around 50 former students took the opportunity to come together and listen to Professor Claes Strannegård talk about digital twins of ecosystems.

THERE WAS A LIVELY atmosphere when the faculty management, together with the University’s alumni network, arranged a faculty meeting. Participants included the full range of alumni, from those who graduated last year to those who studied 50 years ago.

Professor of Cognitive Science Claes Strannegård presented research on how digital twins of ecosystems can be used to make decisions that combine economic and ecological sustainability. The alumni then had a chance to talk to each other, and to Dean Göran Hilmersson and Pro-Dean Roland Barthel.

“Alumni are the bridge between academia, society and industry,” said Pro-Dean Barthel. “They are our most important ambassadors, but also our most knowledgeable critics and an important resource for us at the University.”
