Postdoctoral Fellow in Deep-Sea Taxonomy

The Department of Marine Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a research program focusing on deep-sea biodiversity and taxonomy. The work will include integrative taxonomy approaches, analysing biodiversity patterns, biogeography and connectivity as well as contributing to scientific publications and collaboration within international networks.

Application deadline: 2026-05-07

Doctoral student in Natural Science, specialising in Physical Geography: Arctic sea ice from remote sensing

The Department of Earth Sciences is looking for a PhD student for a project focusing on so-called polynyas (holes in the sea ice) in the Arctic. Questions that the project wants to answer include why they open, why they change shape, in particular the respective roles of dynamics and thermodynamics in a changing climate.

Application deadline: 2026-05-10

Project Assistant in Marine Biogeochemistry

The Department of Marine Sciences is looking for a project assistant for a project focusing on nitrogen cycling in fjords in Sweden and abroad. The work includes field and laboratory investigations, sediment sampling, stable isotope tracer experiments, in situ flow measurements and possibly genetic analyses. The project assistant is expected to travel for extended periods and work in remote locations.

Application deadline: 2026-05-11

Research Assistant in Marine Biogeochemistry

The Department of Marine Sciences is seeking a research assistant for a project that aims to predict how ongoing ocean deoxygenation impacts microbial nitrogen transformations and thereby the future availability of nitrogen to support oceanic primary production and carbon sequestration.

Application deadline: 2026-05-11

Associate Researcher in marine biotechnology

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences is looking for an associate researcher for the interdisciplinary project SEAlgaePower. The overall scientific objective of the project is to develop innovative technologies where microalgae are used to remediate nutrient-rich side-stream waters from land-based aquaculture and the seafood processing industry while simultaneously producing biomass for the sustainable development of novel ingredients.

Application deadline: 2026-05-18
