Researcher Specialized in Agent-Based Environmental Modelling
The Department of Historical Studies is looking for a researcher for the NEOSEA project, that will use modelling and DNA analyses to demonstrate the spread of megaliths in Europe and highlight the existence of prehistoric maritime connections, networks, and migration. The main duties consist of testing hypotheses about Stone Age societies, environments, human–environment interactions, and human decision-making processes using agent-based modelling and GIS.
Application deadline: 2026-03-05
Postdoc in living benthic foraminifera and sediment biogeochemistry
The Department of Marine Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join an international and interdisciplinary research team specialized in benthic foraminifera and sediment biogeochemistry. The FAME project aims to define the contribution of invasive foraminifera, Nonionella sp. T1, to fjord nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) cycling, and identify their impact on fjord biodiversity.
Application deadline: 2026-03-15
Postdoctoral in marine population genomics
The Department of Marine Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join a research team studying the large clone of the brown seaweed Fucus vesiculosus found in the Baltic Sea. The postdoctoral researcher will primarily be responsible for whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data analysis and will also contribute to fieldwork, laboratory work, and other assignments in collaboration with other members of the research team.
Application deadline: 2026-03-16
Doctoral student in Physical Oceanography
The Department of Marine Sciences is looking for a doctoral student in Physical Oceanography with a focus on the ice-sea boundary layer. The doctoral student will work on a project that investigates the physics of the boundary layer in detail, using experiments in ice laboratories, visualization of ice cores, numerical models, and field data from underwater vehicles (both new data and existing).
