Swedes view on personcenteredness in Swedish health care

Person-centered care (PCC) has a number of benefits regarding health outcomes and satisfaction with care but little is known about to which extent this endeavor is supported by the general public. The SOM-survey has collecteddata on the Swedish public’s view to what extent health care is perceived to be person-centered today and to what extent the Swedish public think it is important that health care is person-centered. The aim of the project is to analyze and describe the Swedish population’s view of how person-centered Swedish health care is and how important PCC is.
GPCC has been part of three SOM-surveys; 2016, 2017 and 2018. In each survey 1 500-1 600 persons were included for a total sample of 4 500-4 800 individuals. Data from the three SOM-surveys will be compiled and analyzed using descriptive and comparative statistics.
