University of Gothenburg Excels in Information Systems Research Ranking

The University of Gothenburg once again ranks among the top institutions internationally in Information Systems.

In the latest ranking from the Association for Information Systems (AIS), the university is placed joint seventh in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EMEA) in terms of scientific publications.

The ranking is based on publications in eight of the field’s most prestigious academic journals during the period 2023–2025. The result is an important indicator of research quality and international impact within the discipline.

With this position, the University of Gothenburg is the highest-ranked institution in Sweden. The next Swedish university appears only at position 64, clearly highlighting Gothenburg’s strong national standing.

This outstanding placement is the result of long-term, dedicated efforts to develop research of high international quality in Information Systems.

The AIS Research Rankings are compiled by the Association for Information Systems, the leading international organization in the field, and are widely used as a measure of scientific excellence.
