PhD-level course on Economic Evaluation in Healthcare

Published

This spring we are offering a doctoral-level course in health economic evaluation methods (3 ECTS credits). The course will give you the knowledge to both understand and conduct basic health economic evaluations within the context of clinical research.

Being able to assess the cost-effectiveness of treatments in health care is becoming increasingly important as a basis for priority-setting decisions, and this course will provide you with the skills to understand and carry out simpler health economic evaluations in clinical research settings. The course does not require any prior knowledge of economic theory and is primarily aimed at PhD students with a background in one of the health care professions.

The course is given in March, and most sessions will combine theory with applications and data analysis. The language of instruction will be English if there are non-Swedish-speaking students enrolled (otherwise Swedish).

The official application deadline has passed, but we still have a few available spots. If you are interested, reach out to the course leader to discuss: Mikael Svensson (mikael.svensson.2@gu.se).
