CIBS welcomes new PhD candidate in Economic Geography, Swati Ravi.
Her research interests revolve around the area of Life Sciences with a special focus on globalization and Foreign Direct Investments in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical industry (a comparative analysis between EU countries and India).
Swati has a background in Applied Biotechnology. She holds a Masters in Applied Biotechnology from Uppsala University, Sweden. Her master thesis involved a study of University - Industry relationship and geography of entrepreneurship in Swedish Biotechnology Industry which was a part of a bigger project entitled: "Swedish Universities Innovation strategy carried out within the Biotechnology firms in Stockholm- Uppsala Life Science Cluster."
Swati also worked at the Nobel Museum AB research department where she was part of a sociological study of innovations in the field of medicine using Nobel Prizes in medicine as a proxy for excellent research before joining the University of Gothenburg.
