A two-day workshop on speculative mapping, exploring past and future narratives about Bunkeberget.

Workshop
Date
28 Aug 2026
29 Aug 2026
Time
13:00 - 16:00
10:00 - 17:00
Location
Temporary Stabilisations, Harald Stakegatan 2, Göteborg. Spårvagnshållplats SKF (linjerna 6, 7 och 11)

Departing from the construction of a high-security data center at Bunkeberget (Gamlestaden, Gothenburg), this workshop explores the modes of governance through which technological systems reshape landscapes, redistribute resources, and create new forms of value. Through a tour of both the underground and surface areas at Bunkeberget, participants will critically examine the site’s official and hidden narratives and explore how speculative approaches and mapping practices can render economic and technological processes visible.

Who makes decisions about the places we inhabit? How can we investigate and influence changes in the landscape? What new connections might emerge through a collective mapping process?

Adam Andersson (PhD candidate, Department of Historical Studies) and Julia Norman (PhD candidate, Department of Sociology and Work Science)—will place the bunker within a context shaped by historical and sociological perspectives.

The workshop is organized by Sive Hamilton Helle (Lecturer in Film, HDK-Valand) and Gloria López Cleries (Lecturer in Fine Art, HDK-Valand) in collaboration with Temporary Stabilisations.
The workshop is supported by HDK-Valand's research cluster Economies: Organizing, Valuating and Working.
