La littérature québécoise du XXIe siècle : nouvelles tendances, nouvelles voix

23-25 septembre 2026

The symposium highlights the multifaceted nature that Quebec literature has gradually developed since the 1980s, when the province abandoned its claims to independence, and examines the literature from a mediating perspective. More specifically, it raises the question of whether cultural identity is compatible with globalisation: to what extent is it possible for a literary field on the periphery to assert its originality within the homogenisation process that has been underway for several decades across the globe? Taken together, the symposium papers provide a contemporary picture of literary production in Québec in the 21st century.
