Pille Strauss Raats thesis aims to explore contextual drivers for job quality at workplaces using temporary agency work (TAW). Through comparative mixed methods case study research design, the thesis investigates how institutional and regulatory regimes shape organizational-level practices in using and organizing work in relation to TAW and how job quality and its outcomes are experienced by employees, both temporary agency workers and their direct-hired counterparts.

A particular focus point of job quality is occupational health and safety (OHS) – a field that is highly regulated, as well as highly challenging for all types of contracts but specifically TAW.
