Anna Forné

In this talk, Anna Forné examines the semi-periphery in relation to cultural and intellectual production located between the Global South and the margins of the Global North. She explores alternative ways of thinking about the semi-periphery that emerge from different peripheral contexts and considers how works produced in such locations circulate unevenly, both within academic debates and as cultural works in their own right. She illustrates these questions through examples of cultural production from both the Global South and the Global North, drawing on reflections developed in several recent publications and collaborative projects in which she has been involved.
