The maid Serpina rules with an iron fist in the rich bachelor Uberto's home. To avoid the angry Serpina, Uberto decides to get married and tells Serpina the news. She, in turn, decides that by making up a story that she is also getting married, she will make Uberto realize how much he needs her and instead make her the mistress of the house. Some financial blackmail also makes Uberto waver in its decision…
Second act
Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari: "Susanna's Secret" .
Opera in buffa/modern style from 1911.
Count Gil finds his wife Susanna secretive and troubled when he comes home and he suspects that she is unfaithful. He becomes very jealous and tries in every way to find out her secret and finally he manages to find out the truth...
