Welcome to the CeMEB Autumn Assembly 2025
For the first time, the CeMEB Autumn Assembly will take place in Uppsala. This year, we have an “open” Assembly with no fixed theme, and we invite all members of the CeMEB community to share your recent research results, development of new methods, or ideas on the topic of your choice within marine evolutionary biology.
True to the CeMEB spirit, the Assembly will include presentations by members and keynotes, group discussions on key topics, site visits – this year to SciLifeLab and historical locations around Uppsala – and plenty of opportunities for social interaction and networking.
Keynote speakers
Prof. Leif Andersson
Uppsala University
Prof. Karin Rengefors
Lund University
Dr. Aneesh Bose
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU).
Practical info
The Assembly takes place at SciLifeLab Navet at the Biomedical Centre (BMC), Uppsala, starting at 10:00 on October 8 and ending in the afternoon on October 10.
The assembly is free, including the conference dinner on the 9th of October. However, participants are expected to pay for their own accommodation and travels.
Uppsala has many hotels in town and they are not far from university campuses. Those west of the Fyris river are somewhat closer to the BMC. Hotels procured by Kammarkollegiet include Elite Hotel Academia, Best Western, Hotell Stella, Radisson Blu and more. At the time of writing, Hotell Stella is the least expensive hotel that offers rooms with their own bathrooms/toilets during the meeting. Hotell Centralstation and Hotell Stella both offer a 10% discount for participants if you book over email and mention the “CeMEB Assembly” as the reason for your stay.
We offer limited funds to support PhD students to attend the Assembly. If you are interested, please explain your motivation to attend the Assembly and reasons for asking for the financial support when you fill in the Registration form.
The deadline for registration is on September 5.
We look forward to meeting you in Uppsala!
