Lecture
Welcome to a Business & Design Lab seminar with architect, artist & educator Luka Murovec.
Luka will discuss the Gothenburg pool and sauna project in Frihamnen, a Gothenburg “Belisha Beacon” spin-off, and his installation in Örebro, Winter Colour Bath. The lecture links design to business realities in public space: funding models, permissions, safety and liability, operations, maintenance, and long-term governance. It also offers insights into multistakeholder collaboration, aligning municipalities, engineers, operators, cultural partners, neighbours, and users while protecting the core idea under budget, procurement, and political constraints.
Luka Murovec (Slovenia, 1986) is an architect, artist, and educator based in Berlin. Through collaborative, site-based research, he develops spatial interventions that reveal overlooked narratives and test new ways of inhabiting public space. His practice spans exhibitions, installations, and civic-scale projects. Luka is currently engaged as a teacher the Design unit, HDK-Valand.
An inter- and transdisciplinary platform for critical and grounded investigation of the relations between design, technology and the economy.
