Business ethics seeks to bridge the divide between two distinct traditions of thought, ethics and economics. However, previous approaches have tended to lean too heavily either towards moral idealism or towards economic detachment. In their book Between Ethics and Economics, the authors propose a more balanced framework in which both ethical and economic reasoning have a place.

What ethical norms and obligations apply to companies and consumers? How do ethics and economics interact in today's marketplace?
Drawing on both historical and contemporary debates, the authors examine key issues such as the profit motive, fair prices and wages, market-related harms, the limited liability corporation, and corporate social responsibility.
