About Mathilda Gustafsson
Mathilda Gustafsson is a PhD student in Political Science at the University of Gothenburg. Her research examines how religion, discrimination, and political hostility shape the integration and political engagement of immigrant and minority groups. She has broad interests in political behavior, political sociology, spatial dynamics and segregation, social cohesion, and finds herself in the intersection of migration and integration research.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Uppsala University and a master’s degree in political behavior (Master de recherche) from Sciences Po Paris, where she graduated cum laude in her year. She also has experience from working with asylum cases at the Swedish Migration Agency, gaining first-hand experience with migration policy and integration issues that inform her academic research.
