About Magnus Lundgren:

Magnus is Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor (Docent) at the Department of Political Science. He previously worked for the United Nations, mainly in Bangladesh, dealing with political affairs. He has been a visiting researcher at Stanford University, University of Wisconsin at Madison, Peace Research Institute Frankfurt, and University of Tokyo.

Research:

Lundgren's primary research interests are international organizations, conflict resolution, and multilateral negotiations. He is the principal investigator of the research project Transnational Actors in International Organizations: Conditions for Influence, funded by the Swedish Research Council, and of Governing Frontier AI, funded by the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Fund (RJ). His publications have appeared in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, British Journal of Political Science, Journal of Peace Research, Review of International Organizations, European Journal of International Relations, Global Governance, Conflict Management and Peace Science, International Studies Review, European Union Politics, Journal of European Public Policy, Cooperation and Conflict, Contemporary Security Policy, and International Negotiation.

Teaching:

Lundgren teaches the second-year course "Conflict and Conflict Management" and within the introductory international politics course. He also supervises students at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral levels.
