About Kjell Vowles

Kjell Vowles is a social scientist researching the climate transition and various types of resistance and difficulties in reducing society’s dependence on fossil fuels. He is interested in both historical and contemporary perspectives on issues such as nationalism, justice, masculinities, social movements, and media.

He defended his dissertation in 2024 with the thesis Fuelling Denial: The climate change reactionary movement and Swedish far-right media at the Division of Science, Technology, and Society at Chalmers University of Technology.

He is employed as a postdoctoral researcher in the project: "I stormens öga. Klimatanpassning i tider av ökande polarisering och desinformation".
