About Elin Engström

I am the head of operations/project manager for NIKK, Nordic Information on Gender, a co-operation body under the Nordic Council of Ministers located at the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research. NIKK collects, analyses and disseminates knowledge about policy and practice, facts and research in the field of gender equality and LGBTI, with a Nordic and cross-sectoral perspective.

My role as head of operations includes planning and strategically implementing projects and processes, in dialogue with stakeholders and clients. Central to the position is collaboration with authorities and ministries, as well as individual researchers and civil society organisations. Together with them, I produce research-based material, organise meetings and consultations, and establish networks and collaborations of relevance to Nordic cooperation on gender equality and LGBTI rights.

I also coordinate the Secretariat's focus area, An Equal Nordic Region.

Previously, I have mainly had different roles in national gender equality missions placed at the Secretariat, such as coordinator and communicator. Prior to that, I have held positions at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm County and Västra Götaland County, linked to the agency's gender equality mission.
