About Anna Kaldal

Anna Kaldal is a professor of procedural law and deputy head of department with responsibility for research and doctoral studies at the Department of Law, School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Anna's research has two main themes. One theme is evidence law. In this part of her research, she deals with epistemological issues, such as the evidential value of oral statements, and methodological issues, such as how risk is investigated and assessed. This theme motivates, among other things, her participation in the research programmes Prevention of Violence against Children (Karolinska Institute) and Using Human Sources to Fight Serious Crimes (University of Gothenburg).

The second theme is how the legal process can be adapted to the problems it is designed to deal with, especially problems concerning children and their families (custody disputes, suspected violence, neglect).

Anna Kaldal is head of subject for the Procedural Law Group at the Department of Law, School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Anna is director of the Stockholm Children's Rights Centre.
