About André Bryntesson

I am an externally funded PhD candidate in the project Remain or Quit? Through-put on Educational Programmes and Student Trajectories in Swedish Higher Education, funded by the Swedish Research Council and led by Professor Mikael Börjesson.

In my dissertation, I examine student dropout from higher education in Sweden from multiple perspectives. At the national level, I analyse different types of dropout, their prevalence, and how the patterns vary between students of different social and national backgrounds as well as between women and men. At the program level, I focus on the context-specific factors that contribute to dropout in particular study programs. Finally, I investigate how dropping out may affect individuals’ future income trajectories, and whether these outcomes differ depending on students’ backgrounds.
