Thomas Dahlgren is an Research Professor and Associate Professor at Norwegian Research Centre NORCE, Norway and University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is an expert in marine biodiversity with emphasis on benthic invertebrates and has worked extensively on the use of molecular technology to assess biodiversity in marine environments. Dahlgren is currently engaged in the study of the impact on the marine environment from industrial activities including deep-sea mining, offshore wind farms, oil and gas exploitation and aquaculture.
