Application for the Master´s Programme in Political Science (MaPS)
Assessment of qualifications for applying.
Selection
In the assessment, all applicants will be given a merit rating, based on the following:
- Average grades from the bachelor’s degree.
- Statement of intent (the relevance of academic and professional qualifications to the program). Please use the template provided. Statement of intent will be used to differentiate applicants with the same merit ranking. Applicants who have not uploaded a Statement of intent will receive a merit score of 0. NB! The Statement of intent must be written in English.
Statement of intent
The document must be submitted to Universityadmissions.se no later than February 2 (if you apply in the first admission round, October 16 - January 15) or May 2 (if you apply in the second admission round March 15 - April 15). Please note that the exact date may vary; see Universityadmissions.se - Apply to Swedish universities
Please use the template, Statement of intent, which is available below. The template is fixed and the space is limited. The Statement of intent is written by responding to the questions in the template. The responses should be well structured and written, in clear and concise language.
When it comes to the evaluation of the Statements of intent, the applicant's academic merits (e.g., courses and combinations of courses from previous education), relevant work experience, and other merits (e.g., internships, exchanges, association activities, participation in conferences and student activities in organizations) and language skills are considered.
All submitted texts must be written by the applicant and not by anyone else or generated by AI. It is permitted to use AI to check spelling and grammar.
