Om Julián Moyano Di Carlo
Maritime archaeologist interested in the intersections of social learning, technology, ritual, and political economy. My approach integrates archaeological fieldwork, computational analysis, and cross-cultural comparisons. Currently, my research focuses on modeling the role of maritime congregations in the evolution of rock art styles in the Nordic Bronze Age.
I obtained a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Gothenburg, an MA in Maritime Archaeology from the University of Cádiz (2018), and a BA in Archaeology from the University of Barcelona (2014). I have a research background in prehistoric boatbuilding and seafaring, rock art analysis, and cross-cultural comparisons. I have conducted fieldwork in Spain, Italy, and Sweden and presented my research in several international conferences.
Other major research interests are archaeological theory, philosophy of science, and applied archaeology.
