Om Shahryar Sorooshian

Shahryar holds a BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, as well as an MBA certificate in Business Analytics. In 2016, he achieved accreditation as a management consultant, followed by certification as a Professional in Engineering Management in 2018. Subsequently, he became a certified Lean Six Sigma Belt holder and a Certified Graduate Technologist. These qualifications equip him to expertly design and manage complex business and operational systems, utilizing engineering principles, quantitative analysis, and management science, with a particular emphasis on operations and supply chains, as well as the strategic interface between technology, sustainability, and business management.

Throughout his career, Shahryar has held different roles across industries, business schools, and academic institutions, ranging from consultant and lecturer to professor. Currently, he serves as a full professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Gothenburg. While most of his teaching focuses on postgraduate programs, he also contributes to bachelor's degree courses. He teaches courses on supply chain management, operations management, information systems, and management science. His current research and consulting activities are focused on industrial management, business engineering, and management engineering fields. Additionally, Shahryar supervises research projects at all academic levels.
