Successful InnovHealth conference held in Gothenburg

Publicerad

The 2nd annual conference of the international network 'InnovHealth' was organized in December by the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, with support from Sten A Olsson Foundation. Researchers from UK, Germany, Denmark, Spain as well as Sweden attended, and debated the last research results about how innovation and entrepreneurship function within medical research and health care.

Two main discussions about the research were:

  1. Even though medical innovation is traditionally divided into either driven by new research results or by insights to patient-care, this conference stressed the need to consider both front-edge research and the user perspective.

  2. Due to the systemic nature of medical innovations, both developing and diffusing innovations requires coordination across the boundaries of both public and private organizations, due to changes in research, technology, and organizational practice.
