Gouthanan Pushpananthan; postdoctor with focus on evolution of innovation ecosystems
Dr. Pushpananthan recently started working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Unit for Innovation and entrepreneurship. His research is focused on digital platforms and innovation ecosystems, and he will also play an active role within the Gothenburg Centre on knowledge-intensive innovation ecosystems (U-GOT KIES).
Dr. Pushpananthan holds a PhD in Technology Management and Economics from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. His PhD thesis "Becoming a Keystone: How incumbents can leverage technological change to create ecosystem" received the IMIT scholarship for the year 2022. His PhD thesis explores how incumbent firms can leverage technological change to create an innovation ecosystem. The research project was funded by Vinnova with Volvo Car Group and Zenuity as industrial partners.
In his new position as postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Pushpananthan will focus on case study research and longitudinal studies exploring the evolution of ecosystems. His current research is part of Professor McKelvey's Swedish Research Council Distinguished Professors' Program on Knowledge-intensive entrepreneurial ecosystems.
I am looking forward to collaborating with researchers at the Department for Economy and Society and U-GOT KIES centre, as well as developing my competences and knowledge. Also, I look forward to conducting research on innovation ecosystem and publishing the studies in peer-reviewed journals.
