Deputy Vice-Chancellors

The University of Gothenburg has two Deputy Vice-Chancellors, who each have specific areas of responsibility.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, responsible for issues regarding education

Mette Sandoff is associate professor of business administration and has worked as Vice-Dean of the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, and Head of Department of the Department of Business Administration.

Mette Sandoff is chair of the Board of Education, which is a preparatory and advisory body to the Vice-Chancellor with the main mission to develop university-wide principles for education.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor,
responsible for issues regarding research

Staffan Edén is Professor of Physiology, with a specialisation in Endocrinology. Staffan Edén has previously been Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, with responsibility for the latter area of study. Staffan Edén was formerly the Vice-Chancellor's adviser, where his area of responsibility was gender equity, diversity and equal opportunities.
