About Maria Smedh

I have a PhD in physics and carried out my doctoral research in synchrotron radiation physics at Lund University and MAX-lab. After completing my PhD, I headed to the US for a postdoc at the University of Washington in Seattle, before moving to Gothenburg and joining Core Facilities in 2003.

I spent many years working at the Centre for Cellular Imaging, but in late 2021, I had the opportunity to take on a new and exciting role when Gothenburg was selected as one of SciLifeLab's new sites. Since then, I have been working as Site Coordinator for SciLifeLab Gothenburg, where I get to help develop our activities, build new connections, and strengthen collaboration between researchers and research infrastructures.
