GGBC membership types:
Full membership, associate membership and student membership
Who can become a full member at GGBC?
Employees from partner organisations, including researchers, educators, communicators, project coordinators, curators, and others working with biodiversity.
Cost: All membership types are free of charge
GGBC Full Membership Benefits:
• Be part of a network of devoted biodiversity researchers, experts, educators, and practitioners.
• Access to a collaboration platform for biodiversity-related initiatives.
• Invitation to the GGBC annual member meeting.
• Invitations to member-only events.
• Member-only discounts on selected events.
• Promotion of your biodiversity-related achievements (events, seminars, publications, etc.) through the GGBC social media channels and newsletter.
GGBC Full Membership Expectations:
• GGBC should be listed as an affiliation on all biodiversity related scientific publications (normally as an additional, secondary affiliation).
• Publications should be sent to info@ggbc.gu.se to be listed on the GGBC webpage and in the annual report.
• The GGBC illustration should be included in public presentations when relevant (e.g. conference talks or poster).
• GGBC should be included as an affiliation in public outreach efforts as applicable.
• Active engagement in GGBC events and initiatives, including the annual meeting, is strongly encouraged.
Membership renewal
GGBC membership is renewed every three years, in connection to the renewal of GGBC’s operational period. For student members, renewal occurs annually. The GGBC director or coordinator can discontinue a membership or change the status from full to associate membership due to prolonged inactivity, change of research direction, retirement, or in case of new employment outside GGBC partners.

| Associate Membership: Individuals at UGOT and Chalmers who are working with biodiversity and have an ongoing or planned collaboration with GGBC members or partners but are not employed by a partner organization/department. In addition, individuals that previously were employed at GGBC partner organisations with a full membership that still work with biodiversity and would like to continue to stay active in GGBC | Same as above except: • Invitations to selected member-only GGBC events, including the annual member meeting. |
