About us

The Gothenburg Global Biodiversity Centre (GGBC) is hosted at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Gothenburg.

The GGBC is made up of 20 partner organisations from Western Sweden, all of whom work with biodiversity in some capacity. Our members, the people working with biodiversity at our partner organisations, constitute the foundation of the centre and are the driving force in accelerating biodiversity research and education.

Steering board & leadership

The GGBC is governed by our steering board, which is made up of representatives from each of our 20 partner organisations. The steering board meets twice a year: once in spring and once in winter, the latter in connection with our annual members meeting.

Members

Members are people that work with biodiversity and are employed by one of our partner organisations. Membership is not automatic, it must be applied for even if you work for one of our partners.

Our members are an active, constantly growing group that is collectively responsible for all the research, education and outreach performed at the centre.

Our members make the GGBC what it is!
