This course package provides a thorough review of social science method and the opportunity to independently carry out a scientific study under individual supervision. Please note that the course package is given with Swedish as the language of instruction in the autumn semester and with English as the language of instruction in the spring semester.
The course package consists of the following courses:

- International relations: Thesis
Methodology in Global Studies
In this course, you will be introduced to a wide range of social science methods as well as to concepts and debates in theory of science. You will learn about both quantitative and qualitative methods for data collection and analysis.

International relations: Thesis
In the course, you plan, carry out and present a scientific investigation independently. The work is reported in the form of an essay which is dealt with at an examining seminar.
Prerequisites and selection
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
After graduation
After studying international relations, you have relevant knowledge and analytical tools for work at workplaces that have an international focus and deal with area analysis, investigative and evaluation work, project management or policy work.
You can work within state authorities, municipalities or in organizations that work with integration/migration, human rights and internationalisation. With private actors in the business world, it is possible to work as a consultant with, among other things, corporate social responsibility (CSR issues) and climate and environmental issues. You can also apply to international organizations such as the EU or the UN.
