Research in Intellectual History at the University of Gothenburg explores how ideas and knowledge are shaped, transformed and given meaning in different historical contexts.

Current research themes include critical thinking, the history of knowledge and science, environmental humanities, gender, European identity and postcolonial theory, as well as social theory and the transformations of modernity.
