Somali IV
Summary
This course builds on Somali III and focuses on developing your reading, writing and translation skills.
About
During this course your reading skills in Somali are expanded through the study of everyday original texts provided with comments, glossaries and sound recordings. Your active vocabulary is expanded to about 2000 words, and important syntactic constructions and common phrases are practiced through writing and translation. The theoretical focus is on phraseology, word formation, synonymy and the semantics of the grammatical categories.
The course has scheduled online classes.
During Spring term 2024, the course is taught on Thursdays 17.00-17.45 almost every week.
Prerequisites and selection
Requirements
At least 5 credits from SO1204 or the equivalent. An exception is made from the requirement of Swedish as a general entry requirement, when the language of instruction is English.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
