English: Advanced Research Essay, Linguistic Specialization
Summary
Drawing on linguistic theory and specialised knowledge of the relevant research, you will independently conduct and present a research project in a field of English linguistics. You will present your findings in an academic paper written in idiomatic English and following appropriate academic conventions for referencing and documentation.
About
This course aims at giving students an opportunity to work independently under supervision on an in-depth study of issues relating to both theory and practice in English linguistics. By applying such theories and also relying on relevant research, students are expected to write a scientific research paper on a selected topic in the field resulting in a 15 hec Master thesis in English linguistics.
Prerequisites and selection
Entry requirements
A pass grade in EN2D11 or EN2113+EN2114 or equivalent.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
