Ethical aspects of returning to work
Research project
Active research
Short description
The research is part of a thematic track within the interdisciplinary centre UGoT ReWork (Centre for Return to Work – interdisciplinary, primary care–based research at the University of Gothenburg). Processes of return to work involve multiple stakeholders, including patients, physicians, employers, and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. These actors have diverse goals and interests, which may come into conflict with one another. They also operate based on implicit and potentially conflicting assumptions about what is important and valuable. The ethics strand within the centre aims to highlight and examine these conflicts of goals, interests, and values, thereby promoting a sustainable and equitable return-to-work process.
