The new English-language Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics at the School of Business, Economics and Law was the most sought-after Bachelor's programme at the University of Gothenburg in the international application round, which closed on January 17.

“I am really happy for the great respons to our new programme. We have created the programme to meet the demand from both students and employers. Now we have received confirmation that many international students want to come to the School of Business, Economics and Law already for their bachelor's degree,” says Rebecka Arman, Programme Director

The English-language Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics welcomes its first cohort of students in the fall of 2023, as part of the School's centennial celebrations. A total of 90 students will be admitted. International students applied in January, while Swedish students apply in April (European students also have the opportunity to apply in April). In the international round, 1,935 people applied for the programme. 525 people from 77 countries applied for the programme as their first choice.

Society needs people with specialist knowledge in business and economics, trained in critical and independent thinking, who can use this to develop businesses and organisations in a sustainable direction. The Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics meets these demands. High quality and social relevance are keywords for the programme and the students will learn to develop their analytical skills, the ability to reverse perspectives and to seek out new knowledge. They learn the classical theoretical foundations while applying their acquired knowledge in real-life situations.
