Schools and the Public

Both schools and the general public are welcome to visit the research station Tjärnö marine laboratory. Guided tours, excursions and experiments are arranged here. We also have other maritime-related initiatives aimed at schools and the general public.

Tjärnö Marine Laboratory

At the Tjärnö Laboratory outside Strömstad, school classes can book guided tours, experiments and boat trips. Individual pupils can take part in work experience and work placements, and there are summer camps for sixth-form students. The Tjärnö Aquarium, home to a wide variety of species, is open to the public during the summer.
