Johan Sköld is a partner at the private equity firm Amp Eleven AS, founder of J2 Ventures and co-owner of Devotion Ventures. He is a highly regarded lecturer and is actively involved in a large number of companies, and has extensive experience of leading, developing and investing in businesses.

Johan has an unusually broad range of experience in entrepreneurship and business development, particularly in the tech sector. In addition, he has many years of experience in teaching and collaborating with universities. He is a highly regarded lecturer with a strong ability to turn his experience into knowledge and relevant perspectives for students. As Visiting Professor, Johan Sköld will engage with students and researchers and take part in lectures and discussions with the School’s partners, alumni and other external stakeholders. The appointment is for 20 per cent of a full-time position and runs from 24 September 2026 to 23 September 2027.
– I feel most at home at the intersection of academia and business. What has always interested me most is the practical application: how academically grounded methods and models can be put into practice and make a real difference. I look forward to spending my year as Visiting Professor sharing my experience with students and faculty, while also benefiting from an exchange of ideas that I can take with me into the future. If we can combine the academic knowledge here at the School with experience from business and entrepreneurial thinking, while also harnessing the opportunities created by AI, I believe we can work together to develop better solutions to some of the challenges facing society, says Johan Sköld.
About Johan Sköld
Johan Sköld is an entrepreneur, investor and adviser who has made more than 100 investments in privately held companies. He is a partner at the private equity firm Amp Eleven AS, founder of J2 Ventures and co-owner of Devotion Ventures. He has extensive experience in business management, including as a CEO and in executive management roles, as well as considerable experience of serving on boards of companies in Sweden and internationally.
For many years, he has taught and lectured at institutions including Chalmers University of Technology and the Stockholm School of Economics. He is also Chair of the Department Advisory Team at the Department of Technology Management and Economics at Chalmers. His teaching covers areas including business management, entrepreneurship, leadership and business development. Johan is also the author of the book Försäljning i konsultföretag.

About the Assar Gabrielsson Visiting Professorship
The Assar Gabrielsson Visiting Professorship in Applied Corporate Management was established in 1999 in memory of Assar Gabrielsson, co-founder of Volvo, and is funded through a donation from the foundation Stiftelsen Göteborgs Handelshögskolefond. The School consults the West Sweden Chamber of Commerce as part of the appointment process.
The purpose of the professorship is to give students a wider understanding of how theories in economics, business and management are applied in practice. Previous holders of the professorship include among others Cecilia Malmström, Anders Danielsson, Inga-Britt Ahlenius, Marianne Nivert and Claes Dahlbäck.
