Study here

The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology provides a unique study environment in Sweden where expertise and knowledge span across a wide range of molecular sciences. Here, you can study chemistry, molecular biology or bioinformatics.

Our dedicated teachers aim to give you a solid foundation by incorporating current research into our teaching and by offering you the possibility to perform an individual laboratory-based project work of up to one year in a top research group. This way, you will gain both a broad knowledge and a deep understanding in important scientific questions needed to solve future global challenges within health and medicine, environment and climate.

Study Chemistry

You can choose between two international programmes: a broad Master’s programme in Chemistry where you can create your own unique scientific profile based on your interests and future goals, and a challenging Master's Programme in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. You can also study one or more of our many stand-alone courses, all linked to world-leading research.

Study Molecular Biology or Bioinformatics

The Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology offers a Master's programme in Molecular Biology, which you can tailor to your own interests and ambitions through a wide range of advanced-level elective courses, and a Master's programme in Bioinformatics. You can also study one or more stand-alone courses, all linked to cutting-edge research.

Master's degree project

At the end of your master's studies, you will perform an individual laboratory-based project work of up to one year in one of our top research groups, giving you the opportunity to specialize in the research area you are most interested in.
