Our research

AgeCap is the largest research centre for ageing and health in Sweden. Our researchers work interdisciplinary over more than 25 disciplines with the common goal to increase the quality of life and societal participation for older persons.

The research within our centre originate from the perception that today's society is not optimal for promoting the health of older people. While there are several ways to meet this challenge, we have chosen the capability approach to focus on a more health and ability-related perspective rather than on disease and disabilities.
