About

This course makes up half of the third term in English studies and its main aim is for students to write a degree project in the field of literary studies. During the course, you will plan and carry out research on a topic of your choice with the advice and support of a supervisor. You will develop both your knowledge of and ability to apply methods and theories relevant to the field as well as your ability to formulate, develop and support an argument in both written form and orally.

Prerequisites and selection

Requirements

For admission to the course, 75 credits in English are required, i.e. passed Introductory course, 30 credits (1-30), passed Intermediate course, 30 credits (31-60), and passed In-depth course in English, literary specialisation, 15 credits (61-75), or the equivalent thereof. If the student is also admitted to the course EN1310, the requirement is 52.5 credits in English, i.e. finished Introductory course, 30 credits (1-30), and at least 22.5 credits from the Intermediate course, 30 credits (31-60). Academic writing (or written language proficiency) within the Intermediate course or IELTS 7.5, no part below 6.5, or TOEFL 625, TWE result 5.5 must be included. Entrance requirements valid from HT24: For admission to the course, 75 credits in English are required, i.e. passed Introductory course, 30 credits (1-30), passed Intermediate course, 30 credits (31-60), and passed In-depth course in English, literary specialisation, 15 credits (61-75), or the equivalent thereof. Selection

Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
