About

In this course, the student writes an independent and critical academic work in the form of a thesis. Subject and literature are chosen in dialogue with a supervisor. The process of writing is accompanied by an advanced seminar, where the student present his or her own thesis, as well as act as opponent to another students thesis. Students must be active in seminar discussions and demonstrate knowledge about scholarly methods and approaches.

Since the purpose of the course is the completion of an academic work of good quality, it emphasizes training in the skills of academic writing and the communication of complex theoretical material.

Prerequisites and selection

Requirements

Advanced courses in Religious studies and/or Theology of 60 ECTS credits of relevance for the thesis, of which at least 7.5 ECTS credits with a methodological approach, or equivalent. Applicants must prove their knowledge of English: English 5/English A from Swedish Upper Secondary School or the equivalent level of an internationally recognized test, for example TOEFL, IELTS.

Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies.

For admission to the summer 2021 and onward the following selection applies: selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 285 credits.
