Research Infrastructure and Capabilities

Knowledge Lab provides equipment and methodological resources for research on human interaction, artificial intelligence, and immersive environments. The space is designed to be adaptable, allowing for different forms of data collection, analysis, and collaborative research.

Available resources include:

  • Multi-camera video recording setups
  • Wearable cameras and mobile eye-tracking devices
  • Spatial audio recording systems
  • Workstations equipped with professional software for video editing, transcription, and annotation (e.g., ELAN, Transana, Adobe Premiere)
  • Established pipelines for multimodal transcription using Jeffersonian and Mondadian conventions

This infrastructure makes it possible to document complex, situated activities in detail and to analyse them with attention to gesture, talk, gaze, and material context. The facilities are also suitable for projects that explore how such data can be used to inform research in artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and related fields. Beyond documentation, the lab supports visualization and presentation techniques, including synchronized gaze overlays, layered timelines, and video essays.
